Amsterdam’s De Ambassade shines brighter than ever with a new digital only release. A truly beautiful, heartbreaking interpretation of the 1982 track Der Kanal from the German minimal wave band Heute. The lyrics are based on the work of undervalued French poet and writer Boris Vian, a controversial figure and existentialist avant la lettre. His work was characterized by embracing the absurd and surreal, whilst portraying a great sense of humor. The likes of Sartre, De Beauvoir, as well as Roald Dahl and Murukami are never far away. It’s cold and provocative, with a touch of nostalgia.
HEUTE was der mußikant, G. A. W. and Morscherpünkelpracht.
